Podcast by Dr. Avani Hegde, Pediatrician – Hegde Children’s Clinic
Vomiting in babies can be worrying for parents — but in most cases, it’s completely normal. In this episode of Tiny Talks, Dr. Avani Hegde explains why babies vomit so often and when parents should actually be concerned.

Babies have an immature digestive system, and it’s common for milk to come back up even when they’re otherwise healthy and happy. Overfeeding or swallowing air during feeding can also cause mild spit-ups. Most little ones outgrow this stage by the time they are six to twelve months old.
However, Dr. Avani emphasizes that parents should look out for warning signs such as:
- Green or bloody vomit
- Poor weight gain
- Signs of dehydration like fewer wet diapers, lethargy, or unusual fussiness
If any of these occur, it’s important to seek medical advice promptly.
